I believe that I need to install these updates before iLok / MC / PT runs without error messages. The latest version of iLok needs certain Microsoft updates before it is happy.

If you open MMC and then in the services section, open the Windows Update services and manually stop the update service. Then run the first installer. To save time you can then stop the wus again before you run each update and install all the remaining until they are in. The PC will reboot several times on restart. This cures all the known issues I have had. If you have run your PC with no updates since it was built, you must stop the WUS or the installers will not install. Furthermore, if you want the automatic updater service to work too, you can install this as Microsoft have changed the way the updater service deploys since Windows 10 came out:-

Be patient with the installers especially Windows6.1-KB3135445-x64 as it can take 10 minutes to scan what updates you require and then install. If it takes more than 30 minutes you have forgotten to kill the WUS.
