  • The Samsung Galaxy S25 devices don’t contain magnets, meaning they aren’t Qi2-certified.
  • The MagSafe experience can be achieved by using a case with a magnetic profile, but Samsung official Galaxy S25 cases don’t have this feature.
  • Samsung has worked with “Made for Galaxy” partners, such as Spigen, to ensure some third-party cases can provide the Qi2 charging setup.

The rumor mill about the wireless charging setup on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series was a bit of a rollercoaster. Talk of Qi2 certification and 25W speeds was eventually dismissed, with murmurs of only official Samsung cases offering the MagSafe experiences soon following. We now have the definitive answer, which is that you’ll need a third-party case if you want the Qi2 wireless charging experience.

For some time, it’s been clear that the Galaxy S25 handsets would not be Qi2-certified. Following a little online confusion about what this actually meant, it was made clear that a device must have a Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) to bear the Qi2 logo. This means the magnets that align the handset with a wireless charger must be built into the phone, which the S25 series lacks.
