This compact remote will let you trigger Alexa routines and doubles as a dimmer switch.

Don’t feel like speaking with Alexa? Don’t worry—she can do your bidding at the touch of a button with this compact and magnetic remote, now on sale for Cyber Monday.
Selling now for just $16.99, a 15-percent discount and its very first price cut since its release this past fall, the Amazon Basics Smart Dimmer Switch and Remote is a palm-sized control that lets you take charge of Alexa-connected smart devices as well as trigger Alexa routines.
The remote comes with four buttons, one of which features an LED indicator, and you can (with help from the Alexa app) assign controls and automations to each button; for example, you could set one of the remote’s buttons to control the Alexa-connected smart lights in a room, while another button could raise your smart blinds or throw the bolt on a smart lock.
The Amazon Basics Smart Dimmer Switch and Remote is small enough to sit on a bedside stand or a coffee table, and its magnetic backing allows you to stick it onto something metal, like the side of your refridgerator.
Even better, the Alexa remote comes with a matching wall plate, which you can mount using the included adhesive tape or screw into place with the mounting holes. When snapped into the mounting plate, the Alexa remote could easily be used as a dimmer switch.
The Amazon Basics Smart Dimmer Switch and Remote might remind you of Alexa Buttons, those jumbo Alexa-enabled gizmos that let you control Alexa with a push of their oversize buttons.
Alexa Buttons were discontinued years ago, but if you’ve been longing for a replacement, this new Alexa remote is just the thing, and Cyber Monday is the perfect time to grab one.
